I am thankful for Nadia and her little friends and how they are growing up so cute! Here they were at lunch today.
Spring is in the air

We have been busy around here planning out our yard. Mike got the new flower beds ready when we had all the top soil delivered months ago, but we decided to wait for the spring to do flowers as we were still making sure the trees were going to survive. The trees and the lawn are looking great. Here are a few shots of the new leaves on the Texas Red Oak.
One of the Autumn Blaze maples is finally starting to get some buds. (we were worried about these trees making it)
I came home from staff meeting last week to see Mike and Nadia hard at work planting our new flowers.
Here is the final product. And we are hoping they do some Texas sized growing soon.

Baby Showers!
I have been to two baby showers in the last week. One for Cindy from my church and unfortunately I didn’t get a photo with her on the day of. It was the perfect day for an outdoor shower and they served lemon cake from Del Frisco’s (one of my all time favorite desserts) YUM!

Thankful Thursday
Today I am thankful for some very special friends of ours who are working to adopt some wonderful children through the Foster To Adopt system. I have watched them go through a roller coaster of emotions and conflicting information in the last year. I have prayed for them and cried with them and asked for God’s protection of these beautiful children – no matter where they end up.
I am thankful that they continue to love through all of the uncertainty. Nadia and I went to their house today for a little cake fest for the little girls birthday. She loves pink and so I even made the cake batter pink. We can’t put photos of them on the Internet, so a shot of the cake will have to do.
