This was the best shot I could get of all the kids. I can’t believe we even got them all in one place.

The Bates Boys had their birthday party at Pump It Up this year and it was great fun. The whole place is really cool and now that Nadia has been to 2 parties there this year she is asking if her next party can be here.

Amelie loves bounce houses (Nadia loves them if no one is bumping into her) and they were the only ones in this spot for a long time.

Isn’t that a cute pirate ship? Then everyone had cake pops – yum!

Amelie and Jonathan. A life lesson on gratefulness happened when Emily passed out the goody bags. Nadia looked in hers and then looked at what Elliott had next to her and said, “Hey! There are different ones for boys and for girls. I got a girl one!!” And I said, “Yes, because you are a girl.” She then got a sad look on her face because the boys had something with Spiderman inside. She did much better after we had a little talk about being grateful and content for what we are given.

Last month we went out to Farm & Ranch Day out at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital. It was a totally amazing set up. We signed in and they gave bandannas to the girls and we headed into the park to look around.

A local photography company volunteered their time and supplies to take photos and print them on site. Lunch was also donated and it was yummy. I think Frito Lay donated all the snacks and they must have come DIRECTLY from the plant in Dallas because those were the freshest chips, cookies and crackers I have ever had!

Then on the drive home they crashed out. It was a really fun time and thanks so much to Scottish Rite for putting this event on for their patients.

Jude’s Birthday

Look at the totally adorable cake that Tricia’s mom made. (I wish I had taken a photo of the adorable sugar cookies she made too – yum!)

Amelie’s little friend Jude turned 2 and his parents had a super cute “BUG” birthday party for him. We all had dinner and the kids played on the playground. Then it was time for the bug pinata! Jude went first and then the kids went in order of age.

Then Jude’s big brother Elliott had another shot and popped the top off.

The kids were so polite filling their bags with candy and making sure everyone got some. It was really cute!

Happy Birthday Jude! Thanks for inviting us.

School Update

I don’t know if I have ever said it here on the blog, but we are homeschooling year round. Here are my top 2 reasons: 1) because kids should be learning all the time anyway 2) I REALLY like to take time off when the weather is lovely in North Texas (it’s going to get ugly around here in a few weeks and inside activities are good!) So here is what we have been up to in May and the beginning of June.

We have also been doing some unit studies, reading lots of books, playing outside and crafting. The girls are also taking swim lessons 4 days a week and Nadia is still going to gymnastics one evening a week.
