The Graber Family

IMG_2682

At the end of July we invited our friends the Graber’s over for dinner at our house. They were preparing to move to Berlin, Germany on August 13th to be missionaries with Mission to the World. I was really excited that they could squeeze in one more meal with us before they left. We don’t know when we will see them again and we are so excited about their future and the work that God has called them to be a part of.

They have an adorable little boy named Peter and Nadia was so sweet to play with him and bring out lots of the cars we have since he loves them.

If you would like to find out more about their work and what they will be doing in Germany – check out their Facebook page. God Bless you Ben, Anna and Peter.

Papa and Grandma Brooke came to visit the last weekend in July and we had a great time. On the second morning we had “wafflemania” in our traditional way 🙂

The funniest part of the visit for me was listening to Papa and Nadia play with the Squinkies. The story lines they made up were so funny.

Benjamin’s Grandma made this cake and it turned out wonderful as always.

We were invited to several birthday parties all in a row that were very fun and I wanted to put some photos up from there. We are grateful for our good friends that we have met at church and watching our kids grow up together is a sweet thing.

Love all these kids!

It was exciting to see Dani try to hit the pinata. I had to hold her hand because she still wasn't stable on her feet, but she loved it.

This was the first time I put Dani in a toddler swing and she loved it!

My friend Tricia planned this Road Trip Birthday for Elliott and the kids had so much fun!

Birthday Parties

They went to a movie, shopping at 5 below, had a silly string fight and treasure hunt and ended with dinner at Pei Wei.

The party was a huge success and Nadia loved being the only girl invited 🙂 Thanks to our friends for all the fun times.

Art Camp 2014

Paper Mache Giraffes (click to see album)

Nadia was so excited to attend Art Camp at church again this year. She choose to do leather work with Mr. Steve and visual art with Miss Sarah again. There was no way she was going to pick dance, garage band or drama since that would require a performance in front of people 🙂

Art Camp 2014

In leather work she made an assortment of small items like coasters, but their big project was a leather belt with buckle. She painted it gold and stamped it with cats and leaves.

Art Camp 2014

She loves this belt because she made it, and because she says she likes to pretend it is real gold.

In Visual Arts our friend Sarah decided to have the kids focus on 3D art and Nadia thought it was fantastic. Above is Nadia’s “house” and she decided that it was a small version that her paper mache giraffes could live in on her dresser.

Here is a close up of the giraffes.

The 3D ice cream cone. Nadia had so much fun making this and was so proud to bring it home. We are very blessed that our church does this each year now. I love the idea that we offer up the talents of the people in the church to share with the kids in our church and community each year.

Art Camp 2014

This is not from Art Camp, but is her parasol that she made in China Camp last month. It’s just so pretty I put it in this blog post with all her other creations.
