Dallas Children’s Aquarium

This little children’s aquarium has been at Fair Park since 1936 and had an $8 million remodel in 2010 and I had never heard of it until April of this year. At the beginning of May we had a free morning to give it a shot and so the girls and I loaded up and headed for Dallas. It’s really a great little aquarium with all kinds of interesting creatures and a lot from Texas waters. They also have a touch tank near the front that the girls really liked, but the absolute highlight for them was feeding and touching the sting rays! We must have spent over an hour just doing that and the girls would have happily stayed longer. On our way out I decided to go ahead and apply our admission to season passes because they were already asking me if we could come back soon.

No one else was there so the girls got an impromptu lesson on a sea turtle rescue.

The staff was really wonderful and kind to the girls. They gave us the number to call before coming so we could check to see how many field trips they had scheduled because they wanted to save us a trip if it was too crowded. So great!

St. Patrick’s Day 2015

Nadia was signed up for a homeschool class at the zoo that started earlier than Amelie had museum school so I decided to take Amelie and Dani to breakfast. I had heard of the “Black Rooster” bakery located in that area and so we headed over there. It was so delicious! They deserve their fabulous reputation. Then Dani and I dropped Amelie off and went to the zoo to walk around and wait for Nadia’s class to be over. It was sweet to go around the zoo with just Dani.

We picked Nadia up and had some time before we needed to pick up Amelie so I took the girls to walk around the Botanical Gardens. (Seriously, our town is awesome)

Whew! And that was just our morning 🙂 The rest of the day was much more relaxed.

Mike’s Birthday 2015

For Mike’s birthday we were busy. We started at church and then went to lunch with some friends, including our new associate pastor and his family who were visiting Fort Worth. After that we went and did our usual Sunday shopping at Costco and home for a nap. For dinner we headed to Buca de Beppo with coupons and gift cards. It was a great day celebrating Mike!

Amelie was making us laugh talking all about how the Mona Lisa had to drink an entire bottle of wine by herself because her meatball was so big.

First 2 weeks of March 2015

Amelie has been creative with her outfits lately.
