VBS 2015

Our church does a 4 year cycle of VBS themes and so we were on Jonah again. The girls had a great time and I once again helped Kaye by making announcements and encouraging the children in their fundraising. Even though it can be really tiring, I love being a part of this every year because the kids are so sweet.

Nadia and Lyla Kate are always excited to see each other for VBS and they pick up where they left off the last time. (Nice photo bomb from Adah)

Dani was so proud to have her own class and badge “like sisters.”

After VBS on several days we went out with Kaye and her grandkids who were visiting. The kids always have a good time together. We went to see “Inside Out” and out for a couple of meals. It was a nice treat at the end of our long days.

Father’s Day 2015

Mike is such a great Daddy to the girls! From dressing up for Halloween to reading books to playing silly games, they love it all! Here are quotes from the girls the morning of:

1- Daddy can fix anything.
2- Daddy makes me laugh.
3 – Daddy is a good reader.
4 – Daddy tickle.
5 – Daddy funny.

We went to church and then to Costco like our usual Sunday routine, but we did buy a new recliner for the living room. We moved the old one into our bedroom so that Mike could set up a spot to work from home that isn’t as noisy as the living room. Love you Mike!

Tahni’s Visit June 2015

After a day in Grapevine, Texas.

This summer my sister Tahni is starting a new life adventure by moving to Belgium to earn her Masters Degree. She did a “goodbye” tour of friends and family in different parts of the country before she left. She spent 5 days in our area and crammed as much as possible in. She stayed with us and saw friends and family. Most of the time with us was spent eating Mexican food, playing with the girls and talking. It was awesome!

Wizard of Oz dress up.

Playing in a munchkin house.

Dani as the wizard.

Amazing castle that the big girls and Tahni built.

Breakfast with Aunt Paula and Grammie.

After dinner at Thurber Mingus.

Thanks for coming to stay with us Tahni. We miss you!!

Our 20th Anniversary

Mike and I on our wedding day in 1995. Our friends decorated this cake from Sam’s Club for us. So sweet.

With the help of Aunt Tahni, the girls gave us this adorable card!! It’s the best! Nadia drew Mike, me and herself. Then Amelie and Dani did themselves.

We are planning on taking a trip later in the year to celebrate my 40th birthday and our 20th anniversary, but we did go out for dinner on the actual day. Our friends Arvel and Laura joined us for dinner at Bob’s and we had a wonderful time. Arvel was our best man, so it seemed appropriate to celebrate with them. In addition to the awesome and wonderful steak I had to have my favorite dessert from when I worked there – the peanut butter brownie sundae.

The first 20 years with Mike have been the best of my life and I love the life we have built!
