To prepare for being a big sister Nadia got a big girl bed and new dresser from IKEA. Then Mike painted the room her favorite color and then we hung up all the decorations again. I think they really “pop” with the blue! She also got some red toy holders and a red table for her new humidifier that she picked out – the red dragon. And last of all a new red chair from IKEA since we moved the glider into Amelie’s room. We also moved her kitchen into her room which she really enjoys. We have a wall hanging from Nadia’s province in China that we need to have framed and it will complete her room.

Next Mike moved on to Amelie’s room. I really wanted to go totally different since Nadia’s room is all primary colors and musical things. So we chose 2 shades of lavender and selected paintings with flowers, butterflies and lady bugs. We ordered a little ducky humidifier for the yellow table. We are waiting on a painting that my good friend Laura is doing and we are going to look for something special in China for the last wall. We ordered new wood blinds for both girls rooms and then went with the green curtains. I think that Amelie’s room came out very sweet and it has such a happy feel!

No matter what you might think of Michael Jackson, I have a ton of nostalgia for his music from the 80’s. My mom even took us to see one of his last American tours in Los Angeles that featured “Bad” and we had a blast! I took dance as a child and loved to watch the videos and learn all the moves.

We have a Wii and I was given “Just Dance” at the beginning of the year and Nadia and I have had lots of fun doing it. If we are out and about and she hears one of the songs she will yell out, “That’s from the Wii!!!” Well I found out right after Christmas that the same company had come out with an all MJ game – featuring 26 songs. I immediately ordered it! Nadia was nearly as excited as I was because I had hyped it so much!

This morning we went to see Grandma Linda and had a New Year’s Eve hat and the second Nadia saw it she said, “It’s a Michael Jackson Hat!!” She put it on and immediately was up on her tippy toes with the hat on. So cute!! She asked if we could go home and do the Wii. Mike took some photos of us doing “Smooth Criminal” – complete with the hat!
