First Fondant Cake

This weekend some of our travel mates were in the area and with some last minute plans we were able to get together on Saturday night. Nadia and I went over to Arthur’s family’s house and we got to have a good little visit. Once Nadia was done being shy they were able to play together on the floor.
I love the chance to get Nadia together with the girls we traveled with and I hope that it continues throughout their lives. All of our families changed on the same day in the same room and I will always feel bonded to them 🙂
Week in review
Rather than do a bunch of posts I am doing a week in review. It makes it seem like we were so busy, but it really was a more mellow week than we have had in a while, just a lot more fun. 🙂 Early in the week we had a MOM’s group playdate at a very cool park with a toddler area. And we actually took a posed photo of the mommy’s with the kiddos. Notice Nadia with all the boys!
Then Grammie, Nadia and I celebrated our annual birthday lunch at California Pizza Kitchen.
On Friday we met Stephanie and her kiddos at the zoo. We had a great time, but I can’t put any photos up of her wonderful kids until they are officially their parents.

My birthday cake
Here is the cake that I made for my birthday. I hand made all the pansies out of royal icing. Then I used a cake pan insert to make the checkerboard inside. Fun, huh?
