He is Risen!

Contrary to what our society and culture tell us, Easter is not about dying eggs and getting baskets full of chocolate and other treats. It’s about the most amazing thing ever done in the history of the world. The horror of the crucifixion has past and Jesus rose from the dead fulfilling all of God’s promises from the Old Testament.

Texas Bluebonnets 2012

I have wanted to take Bluebonnet photos of Nadia since she joined our family. And every single year I have failed to get us organized before they die. It’s sort of unbelievable to me. Last year I thought, “We can do it with both girls this year! We will be home from China in time.” Well, yeah right, that didn’t happen. We were in such a fog once we got home trying to adjust that they were long since dead before I even thought about it.

So this year our friends were going to be visiting from CO on their spring break. My sweet friend Jessica wanted to give it a shot and brought dresses for her girls and everything. We went on a hunt around my house and found a little field with a little patch and we went with it. So here are some of my favorites and you can click on the first photo to see the entire album.

Amelie’s First Haircut

Amelie's 1st Haircut

Last week we got Amelie her first haircut since bringing her home from China. It was finally long enough all around to even out, and with her sweet little curls it looks so cute. Her main concern during all of this was that she got a lollipop from Lisa at the end.
