Only in Texas will you find a grill like this at the truck stop.

Amelie doesn’t really have a particular toy or book or show that is her favorite so I was worried about what “theme” I could make her birthday. (If you know me well, you know I love themes) But Amelie does LOVE to ride the mini train! So I had the idea for us to have our friends and family meet us at Trinity park for breakfast and then we could take everyone for a ride on the mini train. When we thought about how busy the train can get in the summer we decided to have the party early while school was in session and before it got too hot to really enjoy the ride.

Reagan greeting Amelie with a hug. I think they have both missed their time in music class.

Everyone had breakfast and the kids enjoyed individual boxes of cereal in the picnic area.

It was really windy, but Amelie was so excited about her cake that she didn’t notice.

I bought pinwheels for all the children to hold on the train ride – they were a big hit!

Waiting for the train!

Amelie and Grammie

Thessalie being cute!

I loved that Elliott was in his conductor outfit for the party. Next year he and Jude will have another brother at the party – yeah!

Group shot at the end of our ride. It was a wonderful day and wonderful party!
I have spent some time this week going through photos and this post is long overdue! We went to visit my Grandma Johns the week of Thanksgiving 2011. It was her first chance to see Amelie and second time to see Nadia.
My Grandma was so excited to see us and had a lot of fun with the girls. She even pulled out her “old school” toys like the phone in Toy Story 3.

Amelie had fun zipping and un-zipping Grandma’s hoodie.

Playing the piano.

More fun with Grandma.

My cousin Leslie and her husband Ryan also came by for the visit which was nice.

My FAVORITE photo of the day. Who knows why we are laughing, but I am sure it’s something funny Mike said.

Big hugs goodbye! I am sure we wore Grandma out, but it was so fun to see her.

(this photo is from our family celebration of Amelie’s 3rd birthday)
I am thankful for my family. I love them so much that I can’t type all the reasons why!
