Mike took a series of photos of Michelle’s engagement ring before they left and I think they are so great!
This one is so cute! And it was definitely a surprise.

The jeweler used this one on their facebook page.

Our Family Blog – Mike, Louanne, Nadia, Amelie, & Dani

We spent a lot of time on the visit from Michelle and Jared just relaxing, talking, eating and they played a lot with the girls. Jared thought the girls would enjoy Mario Kart, so they sent the game and steering wheels to the house in advance so they could give it to the girls. So of course Jared played with them and Nadia loved it!

We introduced them to Hard Eight for lunch one day. It was a little chilly waiting in the outside line so the girls snuggled up (I know the backlighting is bad, but I still think the photo is cute).

We also took them to Twisted Root because I have been wanting to try it too. YUM! They make their own Root Beer and have all kinds of varieties of meat. YUM again!

We also went to Grapevine Mills so they could do a little shopping. Mike and I took the girls to ride the carousel while M&J shopped. It’s a fun one because it goes fast.

Crafting of course!

We were so blessed by Michelle and Jared spending their vacation time with us. The highlight of the week was Jared’s proposal including us. We love you both very much and come back to Texas any time!!!

I have never seen the Hippos out of the water at the zoo and this photo makes me smile every time I see it!
While Michelle and Jared were visiting the weather continued to be lovely so we headed over to the Fort Worth Zoo. We got there late enough to miss the bulk of the field trips and we had a great time. Most of the animals seemed really active and I am sure it was because the weather was so pleasant.

We take a photo of the girls on the Komodo every visit, so it was cute for Michelle and Jared to join in.

I love this photo! I already have it framed and in the living room.

I love the baby elephants at the zoo! So cute with their mommies.

Amelie saw this photo and said, “Did I do that? Did I sit by him?”

Each year we drive through Interlochen which is a local neighborhood known for their Christmas lights. This year it wasn’t as decorated as usual and we noticed lots and lots of for sale signs in front of houses. This is the house all 4 of us liked the best this year.

We also went to Prairie Lights and the displays were all new which was fun. This year there was a Groupon for the drive through, walk through and little musical of Christmas songs. Amelie thought that was the best part and kept asking me how she could “dance and sing in front of all those people?” At the end they made it “snow” with soap bubbles and the girls really had fun with it. It was dim in there, but I still think the photo are cute.

This one made me laugh and I title it “X Files Snowman”

Back at the beginning of the year we won tickets to a show at the Greater Cleburne Carnegie Players. The prize pack included dinner at Cotton Patch and concessions so we planned to wait for their Christmas show to make the 50 mile drive down south. We had a lot of fun at dinner and then saw “The Greatest Christmas Pageant Ever” based on the book by Barbara Robinson. Amelie was once again thrilled to see people performing on stage and she has told me many, many times since then that she wants to be on stage. Both girls enjoyed the show and laughed a lot, but by the end they were really tired and ready to be home after such a late night.

This was a “Hey Mom, come look!” photo.

Amelie pretty much wore this hat for 3 days straight and did everything from eat meals to schoolwork with it on.
