I am thankful for the kids I am teaching art to this year in our homeschool co-op. They keep me laughing each week and I love their personalities and how it shows in their work. Here are some photos from this school year.

Many people have suggested that we go to see the Dallas Arboretum, but my friend Kaye really sold me on it and on getting a membership. We managed to get over there on the last day of the Pumpkin Village at the end of November which was great since we had missed going in the fall. It’s a beautiful place and I am going to let the photos speak for themselves. This first blog post is all the types of pumpkins they had on display.

Those are just a few of the varieties we saw in this very cool display.

Nadia was really excited when I told her this unit study on the brain had come out and she asked me to buy it right away. It took us a while to get around to it because we were working on other stuff, but it was a great one! We learned all about the three main parts of the brain with lots of interesting videos and informational websites. Additionally there was a “Brainiac of the Day” which featured people like Dr. Ben Carson and Thomas Edison.

Jedi’s need to learn about the brain to use the force 🙂

Nadia made a neuron out of playdough.

Working on one of the parts of her lapbook. The favorite memories she picked out were very sweet and the pictures she drew are super cute! Nadia found so many things about this unit study amazing and was so happy to finally complete it.
