Dani once again didn't want any part of a group photo! (click to see album)
After we had been home a week, the weather was nice so we decided to take Dani on her first trip to the zoo. Nadia and Amelie were so excited because they love the zoo. When we arrived we were amazed by the number of people in line to buy tickets and we were really happy that we have a membership and could walk right in. Spring break in Fort Worth was over, but there were license plates from all over and lots of tourists.
I had never seen the Orangutans so active and I snapped a lot of photos. I loved how this guy climbed right up to the top. It was fun for the girls too.
We tried to get Dani down with the girls for a photo and she screamed so the big girls just wanted their usual statue photos.
Nadia said, “Pretend I fell asleep on him.”
Nadia has wanted to try this shooting gallery in the Texas section and this time Mike put a buck in and let her try it. She was so excited and we decided to head home after the girls were done here. The zoo was so crowded we hit the highlights and headed home.
Cake pops by our friend Lina and a chocolate/chocolate cake by me.
We were so happy to know that we would have Dani home by her 2nd birthday, but we didn’t want to overwhelm her by having a big party. We invited several people over to celebrate her without creating mania.
Sitting with me while she gets used to the guests.Dani starting with a cake pop.Moving on to a slice of cake.
After we lit the candles and sang happy birthday the big sisters helped her by blowing out the candles. Then she had a cake pop and when I gave her a slice of cake she picked the entire piece up and started eating it. We just laughed and let her have at it.
Not letting any of the chocolate go to waste.
She had fun opening her gifts and throwing the tissue paper around.
The girls were playing restaurant with Dani’s new toys. Nadia and Amelie took turns being the server and Sam the Cow even got to place an order 🙂
The following is a list of things I am thankful for after yet another trip to China. (I would like to note that I love going to China!! It’s a wonderful country, but it’s not home)
My soft bed. Oh my gosh the beds are so hard in China.
Clean, beautiful, fresh drinking water from my tap and shower.
My dryer so that our clean clothes are soft when they are done.
Free use of the internet without censorship!!
Being on the same time zone with everyone else in our life.
Being able to understand everything I see. (For such an avid reader like myself it’s one of the hardest parts of being in China. I want to be able to read and understand)
