I feel like a true southern girl.

And I am thankful for the two furnaces in my house in the north, that keeps my house warm and heated when it is minus forty (in celsius) outside (like it is now), so that when I get home in a few days, the house will be warm. I need it because right now I am a northern girl wanting to turn into a southern girl. Love, love, love spring, summer and fall…not so much winter.

And I never mind cleaning the toilets (don’t love it) because I am thankful to be able to do these things. I broke my wrist a few years ago and had a hard a hard time doing these things…and ever since, I have stopped taking for granted these simple things.

thanks for sharing…

I wish everyone had the opportunity to do without, truly do without, so that the appreciation for what we have will not be taken for granted.

One more I just thought of.. this summer it was so dry that our ground shifted.. and our marble statue in our front yard fell over, hit the house, and broke!

That is a great post! I lived in Florida during the year of the hurricanes. We had 6 that year. Three went directly over our home within a thirteen week period and our home was beat up pretty bad. We went weeks without electricity, water, and it was in the heat of August, September. I was so grateful to be able to fill up a tub of water and soak in it. I was grateful to be able to wash my clothes. I was grateful for the air conditioner. AND SO MUCH MORE! Thank you for the reminder today… of just how blessed we are.

What a new perspective you have given us all on what we so take for granted everyday in our lives! Thank you for the reminder.

Many blessings,

Oh my…reading your list…I think we had a similar year…we had a hurricane here last year and when the power went out, so did the sump pumps…I am still a little emotional about what that was like, but I never thought to think of what someone in a Third World Country would think…wow, God put you in my life today to help me heal from this. We are lucky to have a house, a basement, a washing machine, a furnace…

Thank you so much for linking up.

Thank you for this!
