When that doesn’t happen, you end up with people like my friend Jim who, as a sophomore mechanical engineering major had to be taught how to grate cheese. Boy would eat spaghettios out of the can, cold, because he wasn’t entirely certain how to heat them up. We cured him of both of those problems, but it took a lot of time and effort…and eye rolling, asking “Really? No, you’re serious?” and introduction to things like the microwave and spices other than salt and pepper.
