I guess I’ll have to take my mom’s word that she really didn’t see any squeaky shoes in Beijing — maybe they send them all the Guangzhou for the rich American adoptive parents. It’s just as well — infants are only supposed to have soft soles anyway, and the squeak would probably freak out BabyP. 🙂 Thanks for thinking of us though!

I’ve been at my Grandmother’s in East Texas (Perry’s mom) for the week (Spring Break) and just got home and updated on the life of the Masons in China! You’ve been busy! And, you’ve been learning!!! SO proud of your Chinese! Reminds me that I met a real-life “Peggy Hill” when I was with my Grandmother! Ha! 🙂

The shopping sounds great! I so loved shopping in China – of course it was made much more fun by the fact that I too had someone to do most of the hardcore barginning!

Wow..Louanne..that is an exciting moment..responding in Mandarin without thinking about it!! Love the shoppping and think I recognize the place…and yup you are right..no sqeaky shoes in Beijing that I could ever find. I think they must in southern China mostly because I could never find them in the north. I laught when I hear about the ‘its not about her’ comment from Lily. Thats exactly what my guide Sarah would say when we were bargaining. Sounds like you had a blast. N looks fab
