Christmas Day 2016 was a sweet day. The girls got up and they got to open their stockings and then we ate breakfast and they finished opening their presents. For lunch we had Grandma Linda over from the nursing home. Then they played and played and played the evening away.

Here are some photos from the day after Christmas and the fun they had with their new goodies.

The 10th doctor in the Tardis was my gift. 

They love to craft and Dani got some really cool tempura paint sticks that dry like watercolors. It was a wonderful Christmas season.

Melissa and Charlotte invited us over to make gingerbread houses and we had so much fun!!! There was so much candy and a lot went into the girls and our bellies. HA!

We had so much fun and laughed so much throughout the day! Charlotte and her mommy are so much fun!

This year I decided it would be fun for the girls to paint their own ornaments for the tree so early in December we headed to Van Grow to paint. Below shows the finished product after they were fired and we picked them up 2 weeks later.

Then later in the day we decorated the inside and outside tree which is always fun.

In December we once again went to see “The Polar Express” at the Science and History Museum in our PJ’s. The girls enjoy doing the experiments before the show and getting their golden ticket from the conductor.

The meal was wonderful and Rebecca gave a very encouraging talk on Christmas expectations. Later that night, the whole family went to see the Santa Claus musical at Casa Manana.

The two days following Christmas were filled with playing and relaxing together at home. We didn’t do a gingerbread house before Christmas, so the girls did one after.

Amelie got a Hello Kitty Makeup kit and this was her first attempt.

And there was an unbelievable hail storm that lasted two minutes. Later that night a horrific tornado hit on the east side of DFW and destroyed over 1000 homes and killed 13 people. It was a freaky and sad weather day for our area.

After all the presents were opened I made homemade waffles for breakfast.

Then while I got to work on lunch the girls headed out for a Nerf war because it was almost 80 degrees!

Grandma Linda came over for lunch.

After taking Grandma back to the nursing home we went to visit with Grammie.

This was Nadia’s gift to me <3

The girls made Ninja Sugar Cookies for Santa this year.

Opening their Christmas Eve gift. They all got a Boogie Board which is a weird name for an updated type of magnadoodle that uses e ink instead of magnets. They are always drawing in the car so I thought this would be easier to carry around.

Santa responded to their note before enjoying his snacks.

Every year we go and drive through Interlochen to see their light display. And every year I take a photo at this house and this year it was a little different with the Penguin as the conductor instead on an elf.

This house always features Santa and the trailer. The addition this year was the man and woman mannequins.

We got a kick out of this guys light up belly!
