In reply to Fariq. Because they aren't U.S. citizens by birth. They are naturalized citizens. It is proof of their citizenship. They need it to get a passport, to be eligible to vote, for college, and so on. No different than the variety of things for which citizens by birth need to show their birth certificate.

Just curious, why did your kids need Certificates of US Citizenship?

Been curious about this, as it seems to serve no purpose. Maybe you can clear it up for me?
