A couple weekends ago we took a spur of the moment road trip so that Nadia could meet my Grandma Johns who lives in New Mexico. She still had not met Nadia and so we packed up and headed out. Grandma Johns was so excited to meet Nadia and she let Nadia go on an investigation of her house which is filled with lots of cool things for a toddler to look at. In the blue room Nadia found some stuffed bears and had a blast putting sunglasses on them.
Uncle Jimmy.
Saying goodbye after some fun play time with Great Grandma. It was wonderful to spend time in New Mexico and for Nadia to meet her.
Click the photo above to see all the photos from the motel. We made it to Tucumcari, NM the first leg of the drive and stayed at the Blue Swallow Motel on Historic Rt. 66. Mike summed it up best by saying he felt like we were in a Cohen Brothers movie. The place was quirky and cute and owned by a character named Bill. When I called to confirm that they had a room available he said, “Yes, give me your credit card number.” Then I said, “Well how much is it?” And he said, “All the rooms are $66 a night, we are on Rt. 66!” HA!
Nadia got a kick out of all the painted garages and especially a little carved bear by the office. She said,”Take a picture mama!”
