Each January our church has a prayer shower for the babies added to families in the church the year before. It’s a wonderful and sweet time with the women of our church. They create little prayer albums that have cards added to them from members of the church. It’s a beautiful keepsake for the girls to have as they grow up. This year Dani was the oldest by a long shot since she was almost two when we adopted her. She was so cute with all the little babies and I loved it.
My mom came to visit in mid-January and the girls were so excited! Every minute that they were awake, they were playing with Nonnie. On Friday night we had dinner at La Playa Maya and it was tasty as usual. After dinner we tried ice cream at Melt! and it was as good as I had heard. They make all their flavors in house and they are constantly changing based on the season and ingredients.
On Saturday the girls played Dweebie’s and UNO over and over with Nonnie. She joined us at swim and took a lot of videos of their awesome strokes. They also danced to the Michael Jackson Wii game and they all got a great workout. While the girls had a nap my mom and I went to Central Market for BBQ seasonings. My mom bought me an orange flavored cannoli from the bakery which I proceeded to eat in the car so I wouldn’t have to share. HA! But really, those things are awesome. The girls tried the “make your own snow” that Nonnie gave Amelie for Christmas and she played Squinkies with Dani. We had Nizza Pizza for dinner and then watched “Frozen” <3
The next morning I made waffles while more games of UNO and Dweebies were played with some serious competition. The girls crammed as much playtime in as possible and we had leftovers for lunch and did some shopping at Target before taking Nonnie back to the airport.
I am thankful for the amazing staff at Texas Scottish Rite hospital. Dani loves Doc McStuffins so we brought her medical gear with us and she was playing with her panda. When the anesthesiologist came in to check Dani’s vitals she also checked the panda.
