Mike and I have been talking about how we should get rid of a lot of our stuff that isn’t being used. Pass it on to others, recycle or just toss if it’s trash. The start of that was cleaning out all of the girls bedrooms and matching up all the toys. It was time for things to go and make some more new children happy. During all the ice and snow I decided this was the perfect time to start. First on the list was piling up all the stuffed animals and making the girls decide on which ones were going to go. I had to snap this photo of Nadia.

One morning I found Dani in her crib with her footie jammies on backwards. She even had them almost all the way zipped up.

For science camp last month they did explosions outside.

The toy purge made the “Little People” really exciting again.

Dani’s first Do-a-dot sheet. I thought she did a great job.

Chinese New Year Celebration 2015

February 2015

The girls and I drove to Richardson for the the Dallas Chinese Community Center Chinese New Year celebration. When we were almost there Nadia asked me if we were going to be the only ones dressed up in silks. Just at that moment I saw an elderly gentleman with his groceries dressed in a traditional silk shirt which I pointed out. As we were looking for a parking spot all the girls could see where Chinese people and Nadia yelled out, “This is like being in China! Cool!” The girls were also excited about seeing the lion and dragon dance.

The Dragon Dance was so fun for the girls and we had great seats.

After the celebration we visited with some friends and then decided to eat at the Jeng Chi restaurant and bakery. I had liked their facebook page months before and was excited to try it. The food was AMAZING and authentic. The green onion pancakes were so good I almost wished it was all I had ordered. The girls gobbled up their food and we took a to-go meal home to Mike who couldn’t join us because he was working. It was a great day and I am so glad that I made the drive all the way up there.

Zoo Trip 2.19.2015

I made a last minute decision to head for the zoo for 2 hours because the weather was nice and we wanted to see Dilly, the new baby giraffe. Amelie also wanted to start her own “Texas Nature Trader” account. She decided to take some snakeskin to trade and was very excited to earn points like Nadia. They also answered the question of the week for bonus points. The zoo was mostly empty and we had a lovely time. Nadia was most excited about seeing Dilly. But she was also very happy that the shooting gallery was open because she had money in her pocket and it had been closed the last 3 visits.

Dilly is so cute, but this was as close as she was willing to go and we watched her for a long time. She has a heart shaped print on her left side and we hope to see someday.

I love the sweet baby elephants!

I thought Amelie looked like a glam girl in this photo.

Post Surgery Check Up

Dani with Dr. Podeszwa and Dr. Birch and their thank you gifts.

On February 16th Dani had her post surgery check up. Dr. Podeszwa said that she looked great and that the would was in good shape. He asked us to try and keep her from being too rambunctious for another 2 weeks if we could. He said they wanted to see her in 6 months and then every year after that for x-rays. We are so blessed by the staff of Texas Scottish Rite and all that they have done for our family.

Mike reading to the girls while we waited for the doctors.

The big girls are always happy they get toys too.
