4th of July 2015

With the 4th falling on a Saturday this year I didn’t think I could deal with the crowds for the annual parade so we decided to surprise the big girls with a treat. Amelie worked hard to stop sucking her thumb so she could get her ears pierced. She even used her tooth fairy money at Disneyland to buy earrings for when that day came. She hadn’t done it for a month, so I called and made the appointment for both girls. We didn’t tell Nadia until right before we left because she wasn’t as excited as Amelie about the whole thing. We took them to Sweet and Sassy because multiple people recommended them and they pierce both ears at the same time.

I think the girls picked the perfect earrings for their personalities and they said it didn’t really hurt at all. I think they were expecting much worse than what happened. After that we had dinner and the girls played until it was time to go get our parking spot for the fireworks.

We climbed up on the top of my Pilot right before the fireworks started. The girls thought that was so funny.

Thankful Thursday

  • I am thankful for the fun time we had the Texas Scottish Rite Character Breakfast. It was a wonderful event.
  • For the final total for the VBS fundraiser! The kids are amazing.
  • For Dani’s explosion of English. She is talking up a storm and we can understand so much more.
  • For my chiropractor.
  • For my health improving each week since the procedure I had in May. (A big blog post will be coming about that soon)

Random June 2015 Photos

This photo of Nadia and Dani is so adorable.

Cool matching shirts

Amelie always has her little Ami with her when sleeping which is precious.

Nadia’s sweet friend Katie moved away. And we met baby Lucy which made me so happy.

Amelie’s 6th birthday party

After the character breakfast we came back to the house to have cake and open presents.

This year we decided to do something different for Amelie’s birthday and buy a table at the Texas Scottish Rite Character Breakfast. We told her that she could invite three friends and she chose 2 girls from church and one from dance. I wouldn’t mind doing this every year for Amelie’s birthday because it was fun for the kids and Scottish Rite has done so much for our family.

Nadia helped me make a list of all the reasons the Character Breakfast was the perfect place for a birthday celebration:

– It’s a fundraiser for Scottish Rite which has done so much for our family.
– All the princesses were there which was perfect for sweet Amelie.
– They had SO MANY characters to autographs and photos.
– They provided the autograph books.
– They cooked the food. (Nadia declared it tasty and fancy)
– They cleaned up.
– They provided goody bags.
– We left at the very end so all the girls got balloons.

I had to sneak one photo in because this suit was too cool.
