TCU Music Class 2015

When Nadia and Amelie were little I put them in the Music Together class at TCU and I was happy that Dani was going to get a turn. We took the summer session and had so much fun together on Monday nights. Aunt Tahni even came with us the week that she was visiting and it was really cute. On the last day of class you can bring a camera which is always a treat. Dani really got into the class and would get up and dance and she was happy to try all the instruments.

With her teacher Miss Janis. (Nadia and Amelie also had her for a semester)

Amelie Surgery 2015

On July 17, 2015 Amelie had surgery on some of her toes. The banding that affects her fingers was also causing problems with her toes so Texas Scottish Rite said that they could give her some relief.

Ever the fashionable girl she chose her dress for the day. And of course her Ami doll had to come with us. We met the newest addition to the hand team Dr. Stutz and I liked him immediately. All the docs are so great at TSRH and he seemed like a perfect fit.

Daddy helping with a breathing treatment so she could look at her new sticker books. After the treatment and the “goofy juice” they rolled her back and gave us our beeper. They told us to expect it to take about an hour so we decided to go and have lunch in the cafeteria.

I saw this while waiting on our food. Even the wet floor signs are cool at Scottish Rite.

We asked them to wrap the Ami doll legs while Amelie was in surgery. They asked us her favorite color and we said pink. When she realized that Ami had casts too she said, “Did Daddy do that?” Makes my heart happy that she knows that it is something he would do.

When Amelie woke up she was in so much pain. It absolutely broke my heart. They had to give her a lot of meds to calm her down and get her to fall back to sleep. This was the hardest wake up amount of pain she has had in 4 surgeries.

Once we were home and Amelie was awake again she wanted a photo of her and Ami with their casts. She did such a wonderful job and was so brave.

Archery Camp 2015

The week after China Camp, Nadia and her best bud Reagan were signed up for Archery Camp. They have archery at the same place where Reagan takes taekwondo, so we drove over there every day for Nadia to join in the fun. She loved every bit of it! Like most athletic type things, she ended up being naturally good and has such good body control she did well with the bow.

The little girls and I did stuff each day like go swimming with friends and out for donuts. I wanted Amelie to have some fun since she was going to be having surgery on her toes at the end of the week.

They learned out to use the bow and arrows and then improve their technique over the course of the week. They each made their own arm guard, quill holder and arrow. She says that learning to shoot was the best part of the camp. It was a really neat experience for Nadia and she would like do to it regularly, but we just can’t squeeze in another activity.

This is the front and back of her arm guard.

Thankful Thursday

  • I am thankful that our big girls had such a fun time at China Camp last week. It was Nadia’s 5th camp and Amelie’s 3rd. Next year Dani gets to go.
  • Thankful for the women of my church. We had such a great summer Bible Study and it was nice to get to know some women I didn’t know very well in the past.
