This was a big year as far as birthday parties go. Nadia designed every part of her cake, even down to the colors. She explained to me what she wanted and created the Lego set up because there are no Frozen Lego’s on the market yet. The back part of the cake is the first scene in the movie with the men who break the ice. The front scene is when Anna and Elsa are little and playing in the ballroom. I think it turned out great and she was so happy that I was able to create what she wanted.
The next big thing was that we made it a road trip party so only a few kids could come and for the first time ever it was all girls. Amelie was super excited that she was the only 5 year old with a bunch of 8 year olds. The party started at our house for cake and present opening.
After all the presents were opened we piled into my car and headed for my friend Laura’s house to watch “Frozen” and have an early dinner. Nadia requested Chick Fil A, popcorn and pasta for the food. When we drove up to the house the girls were in awe that it looked like a real castle which made me smile.
After the movie and food we headed back to our side of town and I took the girls into 5 Below. I gave each girl $8 to spend because Nadia was turning 8 years old. They were hilarious trying to decide, do math and compare their choices with the other girls. Almost every girl picked one of the TY Beanie Boo’s. I am convinced those have some kind of power Hypnotoad power over little kids 🙂 Once we were about to pay I texted the parents to let them know they could head back to our house for pick up. While the girls waited for their parents they opened their gifts and played in Nadia’s room.
The party was a lot of fun and the girls were really sweet together and kind to each other. They were so loud in the car all talking over each other that I couldn’t help but laugh thinking about how this will be my life for at least the next 16 years. What a blessing 🙂
