China is being hit with some of the worst winter weather in their history (not that you would know it from the stupid news in America – I DON’T CARE ABOUT BRITTNEY SPEARS or if Obama and Hiliary shook hands or not) anyway…many orphanages are without power and running out of water, coal, diapers and more. Many Social Welfare Institutes in China have elderly and babies in one building and all are suffering. Reports are coming in from organizations like Half the Sky about the needs, but I also ask you to pray.
Nadia lived in a very remote part of Southern China for the first 9 months of her life. They were often without power in the summertime and the babies like Nadia developed large boils from the heat. Nadia had the starts of several new boils the day we got her, but we were able to keep her cool once she was in our family. I have not heard any direct information about her orphanage because they are so remote, but I have heard about babies in other areas with chilblains on their hands. In some orphanages they are just putting all the children and nannies in one room to try and keep them warm because they have no power or coal to burn.
I am grateful to God that we have Nadia and she is not suffering this winter, but there are so many babies around the world without mothers and fathers to hug them tight and keep them warm.
