Our Laptop died

So I am sitting here renting internet access in the hotel business center. I know a lot of you will be waking up and looking for photos and information. They don’t have any card readers on this computer so I am going to try and borrow another families laptop tomorrow afternoon to at least get a few adorable photos up. For those of you from the Nov RQ group, this is our OTHER laptop, not the one that died 2 weeks before the trip. Not feeling good about HP right now!

So day two with the sweet girl has just ended. I left her asleep in Daddy’s arms. She was our Dr. Pepper baby last night, up at 10, 2 and 4. She is definately teething and I saw a cute little tooth poking out this morning. She had about 4 naps today since she didn’t get her 10 hours last night. Hee hee. This morning I wasn’t feeling well and so Daddy and Nadia headed for the MEGA Wal-mart with all the other families for baby supplies while I camped out in the room with some medicine. (note to Jen – he didn’t take the camera, but said it wasn’t a big deal and didn’t see the fresh fish stuff at all)

Mike had to buy a few new outfits for Nadia because she is just swimming in the 6-9 month clothes from most brands. Multiple outfits are just unwearable because they are so big. It’s pretty cute though even when they are too big. He also picked up diapers, wipes, more formula and rice cereal. I was feeling much better when they returned and we just ordered room service for lunch. The room service here at the Jin Feng is awesome and CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP. They add a 30% service charge and you still don”t hit over about $12 US for a full meal.

There was a fire drill at the hotel today and so we headed out around 3 to hit the store for sodas and bottled water. Next door to the grocery was Tiffanies and I only noticed it because of the big DIET COKE sign. We got Nadia’s finding ad from her (her employees delivered it tonight) for free and we ended up ordering 2 dress and shoe sets from her. One for now and one for later in 2 different colors. We also got a wall hanging that is going to be embrodiered with her name, birthday, orphange and province. I told her that many adoptive parents mentioned her and coming to her store. She tried to sell us all sorts of stuff, and I am sure I could get the dresses cheaper in GZ, but I really wanted Nadia to have a couple things made in her province. They measured Nadia’s feet for the shoes and everything should be ready at 4 pm tomorrow. I am sure we will get her more in GZ. I got a kick out of Tiffani because she has a great entreprenurial spirit right in the middle of China. She speaks great English and was very entertaining. She also will do babies laundry for free as an added service.

After our little shopping adventure we went back to the room because Nadia was hungry. She was pretty fussy in the afternoon and was trying to chew everything to pieces from our fingers to her toys and we gave her some more baby advil for the pain.

Tonight we had Pizza Hut for dinner. Yes, I know we are in China, but I really needed some food that smelled and tasted familiar. It was our most expensive meal yet at $15 US.

The best thing about Nadia today was that she didn’t wake up looking confused. She doesn’t try to “go” to either of us, but she just HATES to be put down. I think that she is already getting a taste of the life of 2 people completely focused on her and she doens’t want it to end. I think that she is really bonding to Mike and he has the magic touch for calming her down and getting her to sleep. (funny, it works on me too!)

She has the cutest smile and is just a sweet, calm baby. We are in love and enjoying your comments. Love, Louanne
