China Camp 2016

China Camp 2016 was the 6th for Nadia, 4th for Amelie and 1st for Dani. And you know that Dani was so excited to attend for the first time after watching her sisters go in 2014 and 2015. She was also super excited that her buddy Charlotte could come too and they stayed in the same hotel.

Day 1 fun.

Day 2 fun. Sharon, Jade, Gwen and Karsten all came down to visit us.

Dani with her teachers. So sweet.

After camp with Alyssa and Caitlin.

Road to China Camp 2016

Packed up and ready to go to China Camp 2016.

This made me laugh and think the Predator was going for the TARDIS.

Amelie said, “What is this? How does it work?”

After the Toy and Action Figure Museum we went to lunch at the diner next door. Then on the road to Tulsa. Once we checked in at the hotel Charlotte and her mom came to our room for a visit and total cuteness happened.

Kelly & James’ Wedding May 2016

We traveled to Longview, TX in May to attend the wedding of my cousin Kelly to her fiance James. Beforehand we met up with family at the hotel and finally got to meet Roma and Tobias is person.

Dani wanted to hold Roma in one place so bad!

The wedding was at the cutest little place called the Belgium House and the ceremony was really sweet.  We had a good time with everyone and the weather was perfect to be outside.

With Papa and Grandma Brooke

The cake was wonderful, but just after taking this photo Dani fell and got a splinter in her palm. She had the look of 1,000 tantrums about to let loose on her face so I scooped her up and dashed for the kitchen. The staff helped me calm her by grabbing a band aid. By the time the crisis was averted we had missed all the toasts.

We had a great time dancing and eating and visiting with everyone. Thanks for including us in your special day Kelly and James!

The girls did such a great job at the late night wedding that I surprised them with Wonder Woman shirts before we went for breakfast at the hotel.

Hand Camp 2016

At the end of April, Amelie and I headed for Hand Camp 2016 at Camp John Marc. We had a wonderful time just like we did last year and it was neat to have a time with just the two of us. She enjoyed all activities and we made sure to get signed up for the Ropes Course and Fishing right away. The facility built a new Ropes course since we came last year and I really wished there would have been time for the adults to have a time on the zip line too.

Games played during the first night.

Amelie climbed the wall SO FAST!

Fishing

Cooking and free time.

Fun with friends at the carnival.

Amelie brought Ami to hand camp of course.

We had such a great time and made new friends and saw old friends. The staff and volunteers were just as wonderful as last year. I was again blessed by the parent only times and encouraged that we are doing the right thing in how we are raising Amelie to deal with her limb difference. I am so glad that we got a spot again this year for this wonderful camp put on by Scottish Rite.
