Since we were in PA so close to Hershey, we decided to go spend one day at the park. Lynnea gave us the scoop on getting tickets with a Boy Scout discount and we saved a lot. WOOT! We started out by going on the Hershey’s Chocolate World tour. It was very cute and the best part was how good it smelled.

Nadia was instantly in love with Hershey the mascot. We had a great day at the park. Most of it was spent watching the girls ride all the kiddie type rides. It was fun to watch them having so much fun laughing and Mike got a bunch of wonderful photos.

The girls went on this kids sized pirate ship and loved it, so we went on the big one and Amelie thought it was even better. She asked to go again, but we were running out of time.

Action shot captured by Mike. This ride was so fast which Amelie and I thought was awesome, but Nadia declared too fast. We all rode the SuperDooperLooper which was really fun. After that Amelie wanted to ride another coaster, but Nadia wanted to skip it. So Amelie and I went on the Comet which she said was “too bumpy” and that she liked the “spinney one better.” Amelie is our little adrenaline junkie and was SO HAPPY to ride some of the big coasters. Nadia thought the Tilt a Whirl was her favorite ride of the day. Amelie liked the roller coasters.

The girls did great and we left at dinner time because they had reached their limit. We met Lynnea, Steve, Lena and Josie for a dinner date. We had such a fun time and the food was AMAZING at Piazza Sorrento. I decided that their Penne al Vodka was the best I have ever tried and it’s what I try at all Italian restaurants we visit. I say again, AMAZING.

These happy girls giggled and giggled through dinner. It was precious.

As our road trip continued we drove from West Virgina to Mount Joy, PA. We hadn’t seen the Hameloth’s since we were with them in the Outer Banks last year. We had also never been to see the Dutch Country in PA. We had lunch and the girls played and played and played. Then they giggled and played some more.

We had dinner at a wonderful little place called the Tomato Pie Cafe. Everything on the menu was a little different and unique and I loved it! I got their signature item the Tomato Pie and I don’t know why I haven’t had something like it before. Delish! Mike ended up with the best meal that we all had a taste of – some kind of Chicken Pesto sandwich. We also tried a couple of their soups and I took the most gigantic macaroon I have ever seen with me in a to-go box. I should have taken a photo, but I ate it instead 🙂

The girls wanted some dessert too, so we decided to try this place – Grecos. We tried 3 different flavors in all different types of cones. They were all great! I was so glad we listened to friends and stay in the little hipster town of Lititz.

View from Eddie and Kim’s front yard. So beautiful and different from our view in Texas.

Our June road trip continued with us driving from Eureka Springs, AR to West Virgina. We went to visit Eddie, Kim and all the kids. It was so fun to catch up since we haven’t seen them for two years. We got there on Fathers Day and had a light lunch then Evan and his girlfriend Kerrie kept the girls so the rest of us could go and see “Man of Steel.” The movie was great and the girls had fun with Evan and Kerrie.

That night we all went to eat the Mountain State Brewing Company for some fantastic wood fired pizza. WOW it was great! They had an amazing Nutella Smore Pizza that we got for dessert.

That night we had Kim’s fantastic spaghetti and meatballs and then headed to watch Claire and Julie’s softball game. It was a quick visit, but I am so happy we had a chance to see them and catch up with everyone.

The cousins… absolutely beautiful. None of my siblings have children yet, so these are the only first cousins our girls have. The wedding was very fun and fit Jade and Karsten perfectly. We are so blessed that we were able to be a part of their day. The girls did a great job and were so well behaved through everything and we were very proud of them. Plus they looked totally adorable!
