I am thankful for our whirlwind trip to Houston on Sunday and Monday.

We also had lunch with a family from Nadia’s China travel group at a delicious Italian place in Sugar Land. Their daughter Angelina and Nadia were from the same orphanage and adopted on the same day. Their son was adopted a few months before we adopted Amelie. It was so fun to see them again. The girls picked up again like no time had passed. It’s a real blessing to keep up with them.

• For our A/C in this blistering heat.
• For clean water that we never have to think about.
• For the giggling girls God has blessed us with.
• For a precious prayer said by Amelie last night “Dear Lord, thank you for our food. And thank you for fun. and thank you for no bears, frogs, or birds in our house.” And it was said with great sincerity.
• For all the okra our garden has been producing for the last week.
  

• For my Grammie who comes for a play date with her great-grandchildren every week. I love that our girls are growing up with that memory.
• For Nadia being a great big sister and reading the “easy” books to Amelie because she knows Amelie loves them.

For Papa and Grandma Brooke coming to visit a couple weeks ago. The girls were SO excited to see them. We enjoyed going to see a movie while they had a fun time playing with squinkies and zinkies. Then on Sunday morning we had Wafflemania in our usual tradition before they headed back home.
