Texas X – September 2015

The Texas X tournament is the big tournament that Excel puts on twice a year. We missed the first one in 2015 because we were at Hand Camp with Amelie. But Nadia was excited and ready for her chance to compete in Master Valdez’s tournament.

She took 1st place in Kata and 2nd in Sparring. She was so proud that she practically floated!

She wanted to pose with everything she has won so far.

It was also International Pirate Day so we put our costumes the the last Halloween to good use and got free donuts at Krispy Kreme.

The Zoo with friends

In September Kathy and Rieley came to visit us for a few days and we headed for the zoo. The Safari Splash was still open for the year so we had a great time chatting while the girls played and played. We also went out for tasty meals while they were visiting.

Thanks for coming to see us!

Butterfly Garden

We had passes to the Butterfly Garden in Dallas and of course I forgot about them and we scooted in on the last day. Each day at noon they release some new butterfly’s to join the ones already in the garden. The outdoor gardens are beautiful too and we enjoyed the lunch I had packed outside. They also have a place on site with “Snakes of Texas” that the girls enjoyed.

It’s next door to the Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park where we have annual passes so we went there after seeing the butterfly garden.
