Happy 3rd Gotcha Day to Amelie!

Amelie has now been in our family for 3 years! Going through these photos really shows how much she has changed in that time from mostly sad to mostly happy.

Amelie loves to sing, wear costumes, eat chocolate (or any sweets really), look at books, play with sticker books (and offer stickers to everyone), put on lip gloss, chew gum, color/paint, give hugs, watch Magic School Bus and Kipper, swing, take long baths, go to the library, play memory and sleep. The last one is something she has said to me several times in the last couple days and it makes me laugh each time.

And she is VERY excited that she is about to be a big sister too!

Thankful Thursday

Hong Ya Lei (1)

This week we are thankful that we got our update about Dani! This photo came with the update and the most important news was that they told us she could walk! YIPPIE!! That gives me such a feeling of relief. They also gave us information on her personality, eating habits, sleeping habits and personality. So excited and thankful!

Introducing Dani

Dani LOA

We are proud to introduce Dani to the world now that we have LOA. These photos are from when she was 12 months old and now she is 20 months old. We hope to travel in Feb or early March to meet her and complete the adoption.

Thankful Thursday

  • For some friends who had an amazing, life-changing thing happen yesterday!!
  • Today is 5 weeks into our wait for LOA – hoping we are at least half way through the wait for Dani.
  • For my sister Michelle and her boyfriend Jared coming to visit this weekend!
  • For people willing to be organ donors.
  • For modern medicine and pain-relief for those who are hurting.
  • For all the members of our church who had babies last week.
  • For my cousin Clay and his wife Eileen who babysat the girls for us last weekend so we could see the Quebe Sisters in concert.
  • For how precious the kids in my co-op art class are. I love them and all their wildly different personalities!
