Zoo Trip 2.19.2015

I made a last minute decision to head for the zoo for 2 hours because the weather was nice and we wanted to see Dilly, the new baby giraffe. Amelie also wanted to start her own “Texas Nature Trader” account. She decided to take some snakeskin to trade and was very excited to earn points like Nadia. They also answered the question of the week for bonus points. The zoo was mostly empty and we had a lovely time. Nadia was most excited about seeing Dilly. But she was also very happy that the shooting gallery was open because she had money in her pocket and it had been closed the last 3 visits.

Dilly is so cute, but this was as close as she was willing to go and we watched her for a long time. She has a heart shaped print on her left side and we hope to see someday.

I love the sweet baby elephants!

I thought Amelie looked like a glam girl in this photo.

Post Surgery Check Up

Dani with Dr. Podeszwa and Dr. Birch and their thank you gifts.

On February 16th Dani had her post surgery check up. Dr. Podeszwa said that she looked great and that the would was in good shape. He asked us to try and keep her from being too rambunctious for another 2 weeks if we could. He said they wanted to see her in 6 months and then every year after that for x-rays. We are so blessed by the staff of Texas Scottish Rite and all that they have done for our family.

Mike reading to the girls while we waited for the doctors.

The big girls are always happy they get toys too.

Nadia’s Orange Belt Test

Master Valdez had told Nadia she would have to wait for the March test to try for her orange belt, but in the second week of February he said he knew she was ready. He told me that she had worked so hard that I should add her to the February 14th test list. She was so excited because she had worked so hard!

With Master Valdez after earning her Orange Belt.

In front of the school with her certificate and new belt. WOO HOO!

Amelie’s 4th Gotcha Day!

Amelie's 4th Gotcha Day

We adopted Amelie on Valentine’s Day in 2011. It’s hard to believe it’s been 4 years and she has grown so much! I asked her what she wanted to celebrate and she said donuts and Freebirds. Sounded great to us so after swim school we picked up the donuts before the shop closed and went to Freebirds for lunch. After lunch we ate the donuts at home and her gift was a Cowgirl Belt Buckle with lots of bling!
