Benjamin’s Grandma made this cake and it turned out wonderful as always.
We were invited to several birthday parties all in a row that were very fun and I wanted to put some photos up from there. We are grateful for our good friends that we have met at church and watching our kids grow up together is a sweet thing.
My friend Tricia planned this Road Trip Birthday for Elliott and the kids had so much fun!
They went to a movie, shopping at 5 below, had a silly string fight and treasure hunt and ended with dinner at Pei Wei.
The party was a huge success and Nadia loved being the only girl invited 🙂 Thanks to our friends for all the fun times.
Nadia was so excited to attend Art Camp at church again this year. She choose to do leather work with Mr. Steve and visual art with Miss Sarah again. There was no way she was going to pick dance, garage band or drama since that would require a performance in front of people 🙂
In leather work she made an assortment of small items like coasters, but their big project was a leather belt with buckle. She painted it gold and stamped it with cats and leaves.
She loves this belt because she made it, and because she says she likes to pretend it is real gold.
In Visual Arts our friend Sarah decided to have the kids focus on 3D art and Nadia thought it was fantastic. Above is Nadia’s “house” and she decided that it was a small version that her paper mache giraffes could live in on her dresser.
Here is a close up of the giraffes.
The 3D ice cream cone. Nadia had so much fun making this and was so proud to bring it home. We are very blessed that our church does this each year now. I love the idea that we offer up the talents of the people in the church to share with the kids in our church and community each year.
This is not from Art Camp, but is her parasol that she made in China Camp last month. It’s just so pretty I put it in this blog post with all her other creations.
We love to celebrate Gotcha Day for the girls and Nadia was excited about this year. She had art camp in the morning and then we had lunch and she opened her gifts from us. We gave her some Rainbow Loom bands and Color Wonder pads, but the most exciting thing for her was a JEDI belt!
Nadia had asked me for an adipose (character from Doctor Who) cake, but I reminded her that I only make the big cakes for birthdays. But for a surprise I made her some adipose out of marshmallows while she was having her quiet time. She was so excited and surprised when she got up and all three girls gobbled them up. (And for the record, Nadia has never seen Doctor Who, but she has seen these little guys on a t-shirt I have)
The big girls had swim in the evening and Nadia asked for Pei Wei as her Gotcha Day dinner. After Pei Wei we walked next door to Potbelly for some of their cookie ice cream sandwiches. I don’t think the guy made them correctly because they were GIANT, but we enjoyed them!
Last month my Uncle Roger and Aunt Paula had a going away party for my cousin Clay and his wife Eileen. They are moving to Wisconsin for him to get his masters degree. We had a great time at the party and our girls did a great job in the mix with all the adults.
As always Roger put out a delicious spread of food. YUM!
Grammie and the girls.

We wish Clay and Eileen the best of luck and hope to make a road trip with the girls to see them while they live up there.
