Jessica’s Birthday

Mini Train 3.2012

We started out celebrating Jessica’s birthday by riding the Forest Park Mini Train.

After riding at the front of the train in December, Nadia declared that she wanted to ride the caboose next time. No one else was trying to get on the back so her and Evie had a great time.

All the girls at the end of the ride.  From there we went to the zoo (separate post) and for dinner we went to Pappasito’s which was Jessica’s birthday choice.

Abby cooks!

Abby loves to cook and she is big enough now to plan out menus and help with all the cooking. While she was here she made waffles for breakfast, helped with the cake for her mom’s birthday and made “breakfast for dinner” for 3 families. We all headed over to our friends Bubba and Laura’s house. Abby had planned the meal, her parents bought the supplies and then her and Laura had a blast in Laura’s kitchen making the meal.

The menu included two kinds of sparkling juice drinks, yogurt parfaits and blueberry mini muffins.

This was the main dish which was a recipe her and her dad came up with called “breakfast lasagna”. It was layered bread flavored with cinnamon and sugar, black forest bacon and topped with brie. It was yummy! Afterwards we enjoyed Jessica’s birthday cake.

The girls favorite part of the night was playing in Bub and Laura’s new pool and hot tub in the backyard. It was a wonderful night!

The Peterman’s Visit

Our sweet friends who used to live in Texas decided to come and spend their spring break with us. We had a wonderful time! Jessica even joined Mike and I at the gym for arm day with Trainer Tim. We ate lots of good food and the girls played and played and played. They introduced the girls and I to Pho at a local place called Sprouts that they tried on a prior visit. Nadia declared the noodle-based dish “delicious” and asked if we could bring Daddy back.

While waiting for a big enough table the girls played out front.

While Mike was at work one day we headed out to the Cowgirl Museum (while Nadia was at Museum School) and then I picked her up and we met everyone else inside the science museum.

Climbing the “rock wall” that is actually supposed to be all the things that can grow on your face. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!! This actually grossed me out more than the puke info.

The girls had fun with the giant light brite.
