Papa and Grandma April 2012

Papa and Grandma Brooke came to town for the Child Study Center “Party on the Patio”. The night before they came over to play with the girls and have dinner. The first thing the girls wanted to do was have them come and check out the playset!

After a good amount of play they came inside for dinner. After dinner Grandma Brooke read Amelie a book about Lemurs 872 times and this was the end result.

Young Chefs – April 2012

One day I noticed the groupon was for a Young Chef’s class and thought about buying it for Nadia since she loved it so much last time. But then I forgot about it and went on with the day. Later I got a text from my friend Tricia asking if I saw it and if I wanted to get one too so that her son Elliott and Nadia could go together. Sure thing! So we worked it out for them to go in April and here are some of the photos.

Amelie had a lot more fun this time since her friend Jude was there to play. I didn’t have all the “My turn cook?” questions because she was distracted.

There were several more kids this time and the chefs did well with all the chaos.

Nadia was the first one to “hide the lime” while waiting on the Angel Food Croutons to bake.

Tasting the food. Neither Nadia or Elliott liked the lime fruit salad, but they did like the angel food cake croutons.

On the way out Elliott said, “Look it’s Nadia cooking!” I cracked up and had to get a photo – Nadia thought is was great! (oh how I wished I had put in her usual 2 ponies!)

And when we got home the girls found these from Aunt Sharon. SO COOL!

Thankful Thursday

  • I am SO thankful for Half Price Books and their donation program. I was able to get a TON of books for our KIDS HOPE USA program. Anything that was not age appropriate to our program they asked us to pass along.
  • For my KIDS HOPE USA volunteers and their faithfulness this year.
  • For our relationship with the school and our churches faithfulness in reaching out to the community.
  • That I have such a cool “job” running the KIDS HOPE program.
  • For the upcoming church picnic – the weather looks like it’s going to be great and all the KIDS HOPE kids and their families have been invited.

We love the zoo and seem to go every time the Peterman’s visit. After the mini train ride we moved the cars up the road a bit and headed into the zoo. I think it was Evie’s idea that as many of us as possible wear superhero shirts which was really fun. It was a really nice day weather wise and we made our way casually through the zoo.

As we left the monkey house they started some construction on the roof and the Chimpanzee’s were not having ANY part of that. They all ended up outside looking suspiciously above their home.

Inside the MOLA exhibit.I have no idea if they learned anything on those phones, but they sure are cute!

After having lunch we headed home to get Amelie a nap while the Peterman’s stayed. Later we met up with them for our yummy meal at Pappasito’s. It was a great day and a blessing to celebrate Jessica’s birthday together!
