Amelie and the Geese

Yesterday Amelie and I had some time to kill before we picked up Nadia from Museum School. There was no way I was going to run any errands on such a GLORIOUS day. So I decided I would take her over to the Trinity Duck pond. As I parked the car there were a bunch of geese on the grass in front of us and Amelie started freaking out with excitement. We got out of the car and heard “honk honk honk honk” and Amelie thought it was hilarious. “Touch them” and off she went to try and touch them. (the kid is afraid of gnats, but will try to capture a goose as big as her).

Here she is looking back at me and starting to laugh because the geese tried to get away from her.

Duck Pond

Here she is trying to reason with them, “Hi geese, hi geese. Ome (come) here geese. Ome here geese.”

Duck Pond

They decide she is getting too close and take off across the road.

Duck Pond

“Ome on Mom!!”

Finally Amelie decided to just walk after them while I taped the video.

“Too bad.” As in too bad they got in the water before I could hug one of them.

Thankful Thursday

  • For finding out that 3 girls were rescued from the sex trafficking trade during the Super Bowl. One church printed up booklets of missing girls from around the country. Then they handed them out in hotels and ask maids and other staff if they had seen any of the girls. Working with police they rescued 3 girls that maids identified. 2 of them had been missing from their families 4 years and 1 had been missing for 5 years! YEARS in the trade and now reunited with their families.
  • God Bless that church for their efforts – I am thankful for those people that I have never met.
  • For the wonderful women in my MOM’s group and our amazing mentor moms.
  • For Mike building the girls the MOST AMAZING playset ever.
  • For the endless hours of outside fun and adventure the girls are going to have together out there.
  • For Nadia reading us “Green Eggs and Ham” this week. She was so proud.
