Fireman School

Nadia liked Pirate School so much that I decided to do Fireman school next. I got all the information and PDF’s from Jolanthe’s site again. Because firemen have to be strong I chose the verse “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13. Here is Nadia in her friend Eli’s fireman suit.

Thankful Thursday

This week it’s the little things all added together.

  • For the mailing tube that someone sent me something in that is the perfect size for the paintings I want to buy in China.
  • For Tricia watching the KIDS HOPE program while I am gone.
  • For Janis watching our house while we are gone.
  • For being on the HOA because that means 4 other board members will be watching my house closely too.
  • For a wonderful group of friends and family who will be praying for us daily while we are on our trip.
  • For our cool new luggage and the cool new packing cubes I got to organize our stuff.
  • For the “cat bus” pin my sister Bayli got me in Japan.
  • For new mentors for the kids hope program who started this week!
  • For our easy access to medicine in America.
  • For gladware containers to pack goldfish and cheerios in.
  • For my laminator to make handy translated cards for China.

Jess Visits

One of my dearest friends Jessica came to visit last week. Our entire 3 days consisted of eating, talking, laughing and watching the Blind Side. Then we got all dressed up with Mike and Randy and went to the Winter Party for the company they work for. We had so much fun and so much tasty food. Day 1 – Fuzzy’s Taco, shopping, half the movie, dinner at Laura’s. Day 2 – Bellisimo Italian, more shopping, 4 kinds of gelato in 1 cup and the rest of the movie. Day 3 – Pei Wei and Milwaukee Joe’s Ice Cream then the party – food by Wolfgang Puck’s Five Sixty restaurant catering. YUM!

All this tasty food was especially good since I have been trying to knock out the rest of the weight I want to lose. I bought a dress for $7 at the JC Penny Outlet 2 years ago and this week it fit. So I wore it to the party and felt great!

Fun, fun, fun! What a treat to have the Peterman’s here for a visit right before we go to China. It was a real blessing.
